Social Studies Week 6

All time is relative to what we are measuring. If we talk about time in terms of just how long humans have been around, we are still only studying a small fraction of life on earth. If we talk about time in terms of how long Europeans have been in North America, our timeline shrinks dramatically. This week we will begin talking about the timelines that we created in class. The idea is that you will each teach the class a little bit about the time period that you researched. ┬áBy the end of the week, we should start to get an understanding of sequence and scale in terms of the “early” history of our nation. Together we will work to fill in as many cracks as possible, and slowly but surely we will get an idea of some of the national and global events that set the stage for our study of global conflict.
